About the Company: We are a commercial construction company based in the US specializing in Exterior Masonry Restoration & Historic Preservation, Concrete Repair & Restoration Waterproofing, and Roofing.
About the Role: We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Estimator to own our "top-of-funnel" bid process. Your primary goal is to scour construction databases, identify projects that match our specific scope of work, and present them to our Estimating team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Bid Monitoring: Log in daily to aggregation platforms (Dodge Construction Network, SAM.gov, eMMA Maryland, eVA Virginia, and others) to search for new solicitations.
- Technical Screening: Open project blueprints, drawings, and specification documents (Specs) to verify if the scope of work includes specific trades. You must be able to differentiate between similar trades (e.g., distinguishing "new masonry" from "restoration masonry").
- Database Management:
- Enter potential leads into our "Opportunity Tracker" spreadsheet with key details (Due date, Scope summary, Location, General Contractor list).
- Manage the status of leads based on feedback from the US team.
- Estimating Handoff: Once a lead is approved by management, transfer all relevant documents and data into the official Estimating Spreadsheet for the pricing team.
- Market Research: Occasionally research new general contractors or competitors listed on bid results.
Requirements

- A minimum of three years of experience is required in an engineering, estimating, or comparable capacity specifically in Business Development in a similar industry.
- Ability to read and interpret US construction drawings (Blueprints) and Specification manuals.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets (comfortable with filters, data validation, and clean formatting).
Soft Skills:
- Extremely High Attention to Detail: You will be the filter that stops us from wasting time on the wrong jobs. Accuracy is more important than speed.
- Organized & Proactive: You create systems to keep track of hundreds of potential leads without getting overwhelmed.
- Professional proficiency in English (Written and Spoken) is required.
- Dodge Construction Network
- GovWin / SAM.gov / State Procurement Sites (eMMA, eVA)
- Bluebeam or Adobe Acrobat (for viewing drawings)
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management is highly preferred.
