Spire Cardiff Hospital is looking for a experienced  Endoscopy Practitioner to join our Endoscopy team on a part time permanent basis.

About the Role

As an Endoscopy Practitioner, you will provide high-quality clinical care to patients undergoing a range of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. Supporting patients throughout their journey, you'll work closely with consultants and multidisciplinary colleagues to help ensure safe, efficient and compassionate care. Responsibilities

  • Provide a high standard of nursing care for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures
  • Support patients throughout their endoscopy pathway, ensuring comfort, dignity and reassurance
  • Assist consultants and clinical colleagues during endoscopic procedures
  • Prepare clinical areas, equipment and instruments in line with department protocols
  • Monitor patients before, during and after procedures, escalating concerns where necessary
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
  • Support efficient patient flow across endoscopy lists
  • Coordinate care with wards, outpatient departments and wider hospital teams
  • Comply with infection prevention, health and safety and clinical governance standards
  • Maintain a safe, clean and welcoming clinical environment
  • Promote an excellent patient experience through clear communication and compassionate care

Nice to Have

  • Registered Nurse (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC) with unrestricted registration
  • Minimum of two years' experience working within an endoscopy environment
  • Knowledge of current endoscopy guidelines, standards and best practice
  • Experience within an acute hospital setting
  • Strong clinical skills and commitment to safe, high-quality patient care
  • Experience or willingness to develop extended skills including cannulation, venepuncture and IV drug administration
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with patients and colleagues
  • Able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Organised, reliable and professional in approach
  • Adaptable with strong attention to detail
  • Committed to continuous improvement and maintaining high clinical standards
