Spire Liverpool Hospital has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Medical Secretary Administrator to join our team on a part-time, permanent basis.

Spire Liverpool Hospital is a leading provider of private hospital treatments for patients across the North West of England. Working Hours

22.5 hours per week
Operating hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm

About the Role

As a Medical Secretary Administrator, you will provide a full medical secretarial service to assigned consultants, ensuring an efficient, professional and timely service for both consultants and patients.

Duties and Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Providing an efficient and timely secretarial service to assigned consultants and associated teams
Producing medical letters, operation notes, clinic notes and discharge summaries in a timely manner
Answering telephone queries and referring them when necessary
Providing patients with information about appointments, including potential hospital and consultant fees
Chasing patient results and ensuring they are ready for consultant review before or during the next appointment
Typing discharge summaries dictated by consultants when required
Managing consultants’ mail, including distribution
Building strong working relationships with consultants, administration teams, nursing staff and other departments
Experience in a similar role, providing a high-quality service to consultants and patients
Audio typing experience — essential
Strong knowledge and practical use of Microsoft Office
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A genuine passion for delivering excellent customer service
The ability to work collaboratively with others
A systematic, organised and professional approach to work
