In this position, the Employee will manage relationships, source applications, originate conventional and government residential mortgage loans, perform sales-generating activities, service and maintain current clients. Employee is responsible for the cultivation of external lead sources to generate origination loan volume.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Identify and establish new referral sources through a variety of sales efforts including but not limited to: visiting the offices of real estate brokers, developers, builders and financial planners, to solicit referrals for mortgage loans
- →Regularly participate in business development activities with professional organizations to maintain a network of quality business relationships that serve as a recurring source of referrals for new mortgage lending opportunities
- →Attract new borrowers through the creation of information mailings, advertisements, seminars focused on home buyers and participation in community efforts to promote homeownership
- →Cultivate repeat business from existing base of borrowers
- →Consult with borrower to identify their loan needs, assess/analyze their financial situation, determine the correct loan options and provide information relevant to the risks and benefits of each program for which the borrower is qualified
- →Guide customers through the loan process by obtaining all borrower required documents, providing borrowers with regulatory disclosures and assist with the submission to underwriters
- →Coordinate all aspects of the mortgage application process with appropriate parties Resolve outstanding issues in order to clear conditions and facilitate the closing of the loan
- →Other duties and/or mortgage related tasks as assigned
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Ability to compose routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as deposit receipts, promissory notes, regulatory and legal directives, memorandums, safety rules, operating and maintaining instructions and policy and procedure manuals
- Ability to apply concepts of basic math to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, ratios, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
- Ability to understand a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form Ability to interpret a customer’s needs
- Ability to comprehend and analyze complex financial data and provide financial alternatives
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists
- Ability to make sound decisions
- Ability to learn and adapt to market changes quickly
- NMLS License Training and on-going certification as required by the state(s) in which licensed
- Valid Driver’s License
- Associate’s Degree plus two years of customer service/sales experience or equivalent experience
- Two years of mortgage industry experience; mortgage sales experience preferred
- Solid understanding of current mortgage laws, guidelines and loan programs
- Solid knowledge of residential mortgage processing and procedures
- Familiarity with real estate market in local area
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Basic computer skills required: word processing, e-mail systems, data base programs, etc.
- Proficiency with Express Loan a plus
- Normal office environment
- The employee must be available to customers outside of normal business hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Employee works under minimal supervision.
- Employee has no supervisory responsibilities.
