The Part-time Motor Pool Dispatcher is responsible for performing the dispatch of vehicles and radios to support Terminal activities.

Responsibilities

→Assign vehicles and radios to labor before shift, logging proper credentials for accountability.
→Communicate with the mechanic’s shop to ensure vehicles are serviceable and sanitized.
→Report radios with communication deficiencies to the department manager.
→Report any equipment not returned or damaged, with the employer’s complaint filed to the department manager.
→Ensure equipment is ready for the next shift.
→Support the Terminal’s operations during work hours.
→Occasionally drive through the container yard during busy conditions.
→Support the Security department's needs for additional radios or vehicles.
→Other duties as assigned.

→A minimum of 2 years of experience in dispatching or customer service is required.
→A high school diploma is required.
→Experience in terminal operations is preferred.
→A valid driver's license is required. Candidates must also possess, or can obtain and maintain, a valid TWIC card.
→Excellent time-management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work.
→Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
→Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
→Strong organizational skills.

Required job duties are normally performed in a climate-controlled office environment.
Exposure to computer screens.
The office staff may be required to work outside on their feet 3-5 times a day, several times a week, depending on the workload.
Exposure to outside weather conditions.
The noise level in the work environment is occasional.

Pay rate: $20 per hour
