Quality Assurance and Test Analyst

As a Quality Assurance and Testing Analyst you will be responsible for manual and automated QA testing, designing and developing test plan and test cases for HIE applications.  The role will be involved in performing/executing testing efforts for all ongoing support initiatives and integration projects - analyzing and understanding technical specifications and developing test cases and scenarios to successfully implement the HIE integration with end users. 

Responsibilities

• 
  Provide input to the development of structured test plans, test cases and conduct UAT testing for every product release to ensure the approved business requirements are met for system modifications.
• 
  Contribute to the manual test strategy and provide feedback for improvements.
• 
  Partner with Application staff and vendors to identify, record and track defects/bugs using JIRA or similar tool.
  
• 
  Participate in daily scrums as well as features planning discussions.
• 
  Assess and analyze issues reported by production users and identify root cause.
• 
  Coordinating the requirements, specifications, and user acceptance testing efforts.
• 
  Participate in implementation of integration projects with third-party vendors.
• 
  Also responsible for testing new software and system upgrades and releases and documenting, coordinating and communicating the resolution of any issues.
• Proactively work towards making QA testing and process improvements.

Knowledge, Experience & Competencies:

Formal Education Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field.

Years & Field of Experience required:

• 
  4 to 8 years’ experience in executing manual and automated QA testing, as well as in designing and developing test plan and text cases preferably from a healthcare or health information exchange industry.
• 
  HL7 interface experience and in using SQL queries to manipulate data.
• Defect management, analysis and reporting skills.
