Operational Risk Relationship Manager

Assist Head ORM and Unit Heads in ORM in coordinating, driving and directing effective operational risk management activities bank-wide with focus on relevant SBU/SRF.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implementation and maintenance of the OR framework in close relationship with the BORMs.

• Drive and support Oprisk community to adopt and embed relevant operational risk management tool- sets.

• Carry out timely monthly reconciliation of Oprisk loss database and general ledger.

• Proactive and aggressive engagement of BORMs to ensure prompt submission of risk reports and returns.

• Provide strong support in assessing and quantifying operational risk within the bank utilizing approved Risk Grading matrix and other available data. Coach BORMs in appropriate risk grading as a basis of prioritizing efforts and focus.

• Support Operational risk community (SBU/SRF) in prompt identification and management of operational risks by carrying out the following: Risk identification & Assessment workshops, Operational loss event analysis, RCSA analysis, , Incident analysis etc.

• Development of Oprisk newsletter (Focus) for bank-wide consumption.

• Facilitate basic ORM trainings for new joiners' bank wide and other adhoc trainings to the risk community based on request. 

• Provide support to the BORMs during RCSA workshops to ensure robust output. 

• Develop relevant Oprisk Templates and provide guidance to the BORMs in line with approved framework/policies and best practices. 

• Review, quality assure and consolidate Operational risk issues and losses reported by the BORMs for completeness and accuracy in line with approved framework/policies and best practices. 

• Preparation of the bank's OR profile. 

• Identification and reporting of relevant External loss events for inclusion in operational risk management report.

• Analyze the Bank internal loss data and report trends. 

• Track potential losses and near-misses and report on same monthly 

• Provide support to the Risk Analysis & Profiling Team in product reviews 

• Assist Head, ORM in secretariat duty to the BRCC. 

• As part of the Bank’s Information Security requirements, maintain the security of all Information entrusted to the staff and comply with the principles and policies in the Information Security Handbook.

• Any other task that may be assigned by the Supervisor

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education

• Minimum Education: First degree preferably in a numerate discipline.

• Higher degrees/MBA/professional certifications are also desirable

• Minimum experience – Five years relevant working experience
