SUMMARY The Lift Operations Manager at Tamarack Resort will oversee the seamless operation of various guest services and activities to ensure an exceptional experience for all visitors. We celebrate and respect our diverse team members and guests.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. · Team Leadership: Lead, train, and motivate a diverse team of staff members, fostering a positive and productive work environment. · Operational Efficiency: Develop and implement operational procedures and policies to streamline processes and enhance efficiency across all guest-facing departments. · Quality Assurance: Monitor and maintain high standards of service quality, addressing any issues promptly and effectively to enhance the overall guest experience. · Budget Management: Assist in budget preparation and manage departmental budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations without compromising on service quality. · Guest Feedback: Actively seek and respond to guest feedback, implementing improvements based on insights to continuously elevate the guest experience. · Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including marketing, sales, patrol and lift maintenance, to align efforts and support overall resort objectives. · Assist in assuring the operation of the lifts in accordance with the applicable rules and regulations of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and Tamaracks company policies and procedures. · Provide daily supervision, delegation, and motivation of lift operators, leads and supervisor positions. Ensure staff is following all dept procedures, while providing a high level of service and work ethic. · Monitor lift area set-up, signage, and snow work on a regular basis and make changes when needed. Coordinate with supervisors and other departments regarding lift area needs. · Responsible for the hiring, performance evaluation, discipline, and development of all lift operations staff. · Ensures that daily lift inspections, safety checks and logs are properly completed. · Oversee all lift operations administrative duties such as scheduling, lift logs, personnel records, incident and accident reports, emails etc. Ensure these records are properly filled out, organized, and archived. · Develop, implement, and complete projects on time and within approved budget. · Identify and submit all capital proposals · Monitor all departmental supply needs and order new supplies when needed. · Familiar with daily snow and grooming report. · Facilitate payroll functions for staff by maintaining daily time records in Dayforce · Provide a high level of guest service and guest interaction. · Adhere to all Tamarack policies and procedures listed in the employee handbook. · Understand and apply the Skier Responsibility Code. · Other duties may be assigned. · Must be able to use two way radio dispatch system. · Intermediate or above ski or boarder. · Ability to operate a snowmobile · Must be able to work weekends and holidays. · Must be able to function effectively in inclement weather conditions.   QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job satisfactorily, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. · Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or 3 years experience with resort mountain operations. · Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a team effectively. · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. · Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities. · A proactive and solution-oriented mindset. · Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.   CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Requires possession of a valid Driver's license with a driving record meeting the minimum standards needed by the Resort’s insurance carrier.   LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.   OTHER SKILLS Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, exceptional Excel skills, comfort with multiple sales platforms. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.   REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.   PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.   While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be able to participate in outdoor recreational activities on a regular basis. Working outdoors in all different types of weather is a daily occurrence as well. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
