Discipline Undecided

The Discipline Undecided path is for candidates early in their careers who have not yet committed to a specific technology discipline. You are not expected to arrive with a declared specialty — this path is designed for you to discover it here. TEECOM is growing — multiple teams across the US, UK, and India are actively hiring to grow their teams.

When you apply here, you will go through an adapted assessment designed for earlier-career candidates. Your assessment evaluates your foundational aptitude, learning orientation, and technical baseline — not discipline-specific depth.

Entry into this path is at the Designer I level. If you already have meaningful professional experience in a specific discipline — ICT/Telecom, Security, AV, Wireless, or another — apply to that discipline directly. This path is for candidates without deep experience in any single discipline who are ready to learn.

TEECOM pairs new hires with experienced mentors across multiple practice areas, giving them direct exposure to real project work in ICT/Telecom, Security, AV, Wireless, BIM/Production, and other disciplines before they choose a primary specialty. Your discipline emerges from what you discover at TEECOM — not from a decision you have to make before your first day.

Work at the Designer I level focuses on learning through doing: applying discipline fundamentals, supporting engineering and production teams, and building your technical foundation through hands-on project experience and structured mentorship. You will work closely with your mentor — an experienced engineer or discipline lead who will guide your development, assign your work, and help you grow.

Those who demonstrate strong capability and choose a discipline typically advance to Designer II with a clear specialization.

We are looking for early-career candidates who are curious, coachable, and treat “I don’t know yet” as a starting point — not a stopping point.

• Recent graduate or early-career professional with exposure to technology systems, AEC, or a related technical field
• Foundational technical aptitude — you can read drawings, learn tools quickly, and ask good questions
• Genuine curiosity about how technology systems work in buildings and facilities
• Degree in any four-year engineering discipline, computer science, technology management, or a related technical field — or equivalent hands-on experience
• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or equivalent preferred
• No declared discipline specialty required
• Eagerness to learn from mentors and grow through real project work
