Lumber Grader

We're hiring Lumber Graders to inspect and grade the lumber we produce in New Albany, so only quality product moves on to our customers. Grading experience is a plus, but we provide on-the-job training and certification for people with a sharp eye and steady attention to detail.

  Inspect lumber for defects like knots, splits, decay, and warp

• →

  Grade and sort lumber by size and quality using SPIB grading rules

• →

  Mark lumber with grade stamps and record grading data accurately

• →

  Work with sawyers and production staff when quality issues come up

• →

  Follow safety procedures and keep your area clean

• Strong attention to detail and a focus on quality

• Lumber grading experience or certification is a plus

• Comfortable standing for long periods and handling lumber in a mill environment

• Dependable attendance and reliable transportation to the mill

• Able to pass a background check

Schedule and pay: Full-time. Multiple shifts available, including days. We'll talk through what works for you during your interview. Starting pay $16+/hr. Training and grading certification provided.

Location: On site at our mill in New Albany, Mississippi.
