Facilities Maintenance Technician

Position Summary: 

The Facilities Maintenance Technician supports the ongoing operation, safety, and functionality of Mint Cannabis’s licensed medical cannabis facilities across Florida. This hands-on role is responsible for performing routine maintenance, emergency repairs, and preventative work across a variety of building systems, equipment, and infrastructure to ensure facility readiness, regulatory compliance, and optimal cannabis production environments.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong technical troubleshooting skills who enjoys working across multiple trades including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, lighting, and structural systems.
  • Complete carpentry tasks including drywall repair, painting, patching, and minor facility modifications.
  • Monitor and maintain environmental systems to ensure consistent climate control for cannabis cultivation.
  • Conduct regular facility inspections to proactively identify maintenance needs or safety concerns.
  • Ensure all work meets safety, fire code, and OSHA standards as well as Florida cannabis compliance regulations.
  • Coordinate and oversee third-party vendors for specialized service needs.
  • Escort and monitor vendors and contractors during onsite work.
  • Maintain organized workspaces and inventory of tools, supplies, and replacement parts.
  • Perform basic groundskeeping duties including mowing and trimming as needed.
  • Complete accurate documentation of all work orders, repairs, inspections, and inventory records.
  • Support light sanitation and cleaning tasks to maintain facility standards.
  • Travel regularly between multiple Florida locations based on facility needs.

  • None

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in facilities maintenance or building operations.
  • Hands-on working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, and general repairs.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across multiple trades.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, access roofs, and work in confined or elevated spaces.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Familiarity with safety standards, OSHA guidelines, and facility compliance requirements.
  • Basic computer proficiency for work order tracking, reporting, and record-keeping.
  • Cannabis industry experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain credentials to work in a licensed Florida medical cannabis facility.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle (mileage reimbursement provided).
  • Must pass a background check and fingerprint clearance.

Education and Certifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Trade certifications (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or related fields) preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift throughout the workday.
  • Ability to safely lift and carry 50+ pounds.
  • Ability to work at varying heights (ladders, rooftops, elevated equipment).
  • Comfortable working in changing environmental conditions including heat, humidity, and noise.

Work Environment:

  • Licensed cannabis cultivation and production facilities across Florida.
  • Fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
  • Use of PPE may be required in certain areas of operations.
  • Indoor and outdoor facility settings.
 

Travel Requirements:

  • Regular in-state travel to multiple Florida facilities required.
