The Tax & Financial Support Specialist plays a key role in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local sales and use tax regulations while supporting the organization's financial operations. This position is responsible for preparing and filing tax returns, maintaining tax records, reconciling financial data, supporting audits, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and experience working with tax software, ERP systems, and financial reporting tools.

This role will be based in Orlando, FL and is an in-office position.

  • Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax returns across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Reconcile sales tax reports, payroll reports, and related general ledger accounts.
  • Maintain accurate tax rate tables and exemption certificates.
  • Research and resolve tax discrepancies, notices, and inquiries from tax authorities.
  • Assist with sales tax audits by gathering documentation and responding to auditor requests.
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and evaluate their impact on company operations.
  • Collaborate with Finance, HR, Sales, Purchasing, IT, and other departments to ensure proper tax treatment and financial compliance.
  • Support tax planning, compliance initiatives, and financial reporting activities.
  • Coordinate, analyze, and present financial data in a clear and meaningful manner.
  • Participate in system implementations, process improvements, and special tax and payroll-related projects.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation to support compliance and audit requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in sales and use tax compliance, accounting, or a related financial role.
  • Experience preparing and filing multi-jurisdictional sales and use tax returns.
  • Familiarity with tax software such as Avalara, Vertex, Sovos, or similar platforms.
  • Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or equivalent.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • The job will generally be performed in an office environment but may require travel to visit company offices, customers, prospects, partners, trade shows, conferences, or other business locations.  
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects and tools.  
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.  

A background check and drug/substance screening are required after a conditional offer. Employment will proceed only upon receiving clear results from both.

ThreatLocker also conducts randomized drug and substance testing approximately every 60 days, in line with the same screening standards.
