Position Summary
The Master Data role is responsible for the accuracy, completeness, governance, and operational readiness of product and material data across Traditional Medicinals' enterprise systems.
Working cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, Finance, Commercialization, and IT, this role ensures that finished goods, raw materials, packaging, vendors, bills of materials (BOMs), routings, and other critical product data are accurately established and maintained throughout the product lifecycle.
This role serves as an important control point between business decisions and operational execution, proactively identifying and resolving master data issues before they impact production, planning, inventory, costing, compliance, or reporting.

Key Responsibilities
Master Data Management
  • Create, maintain, and update master data for finished goods, raw materials, packaging, and related product information within the ERP system.
  • Maintain critical attributes including item groups, units of measure, dimensions, lifecycle status, shelf life, batch and lot requirements, and other product-specific data.
  • Validate site-specific information including warehouses, ordering parameters, planning settings, and production defaults.
  • Maintain accurate vendor/item relationships, buyer groups, lead times, sourcing information, and related procurement data.
  • Ensure master data remains accurate and consistent across ERP, planning, reporting, and connected systems.
Product & Manufacturing Data
  • Create, maintain, and validate bills of materials (BOMs), formulas, routings, and other production structures.
  • Ensure product structures are active for the appropriate products, sites, revisions, and effective dates.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure product and production data accurately reflects operational requirements.
  • Support new product launches, product changes, and discontinuations by ensuring required system data is complete and ready for execution.
Data Quality & Governance
  • Review master data requests for completeness, accuracy, business impact, and required approvals.
  • Identify missing, inconsistent, outdated, or noncompliant data and coordinate corrective action.
  • Conduct regular audits of new and changed master data.
  • Maintain master data standards, definitions, procedures, and documentation.
  • Identify recurring data quality issues and work cross-functionally to address root causes.
  • Support the continued development of master data governance practices as the organization grows.
Operational Support & Risk Management
  • Proactively identify master data issues that could impact production, procurement, planning, inventory, costing, compliance, or reporting.
  • Prioritize master data requests based on operational and business risk.
  • Troubleshoot urgent issues where missing or inaccurate data prevents materials or products from being planned, purchased, received, manufactured, or reported correctly.
  • Ensure product changes and discontinuations are accurately reflected across applicable systems.
  • Communicate data readiness, risks, dependencies, and completed changes to business partners.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Quality on specifications, certifications, usability, shelf life, and compliance requirements.
  • Partner with Finance on costing, valuation, pricing units, GL defaults, and other financial data requirements.
  • Partner with Procurement and Planning on vendor, sourcing, lead-time, inventory, and planning requirements.
  • Partner with Commercialization and Innovation to ensure new products and product changes are system-ready prior to launch.
  • Partner with IT and Enterprise Systems on ERP enhancements, integrations, releases, and changes affecting master data.
  • Educate business partners on master data requirements, standards, ownership, and the operational importance of data quality.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working with master data, ERP systems, supply chain systems, manufacturing systems, or a related discipline.
  • Understanding of product and material master data within a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing and supply chain concepts such as BOMs, routings, inventory, procurement, planning, and product costing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to understand how data changes affect downstream business processes and systems.
  • Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively across multiple functions.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and respond effectively to operationally critical issues.

Preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365).
  • Experience within CPG, food and beverage, dietary supplements, regulated manufacturing, or a similar manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting new product commercialization and product lifecycle changes.
  • Familiarity with master data governance, planning systems, reporting platforms, and system integrations.
  • Experience supporting ERP implementations, enhancements, or system transformations.
  • Experience working within multi-site or co-manufacturing environments.
Measures of Success
Success in this role means that:
  • Master data is complete, accurate, consistent, and trusted across the organization.
  • New products and product changes are system-ready before operational execution.
  • Manufacturing, Planning, Procurement, Quality, and Finance can rely on ERP data to perform their work.
  • Data-related risks are identified and resolved before they result in production delays, inventory issues, costing errors, compliance concerns, or reporting problems.
  • Recurring data quality issues decrease through stronger standards, governance, and ownership.
  • Master data processes continue to scale effectively as Traditional Medicinals grows.
