Key Responsibilities A. Cash & Transaction Processing Receive and process customer deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and payments Verify transaction details, signatures, and supporting documents Ensure accuracy in posting transactions into the Core Banking System (CBS) Issue receipts and maintain proper transaction records B. Cash Management & Controls Maintain adequate cash levels within approved teller limits Perform daily cash balancing and reconciliation of till accounts Escalate any cash shortages/overages immediately Adhere strictly to cash handling procedures and dual control requirements C. Customer Service Provide prompt, courteous, and professional service to customers Respond to customer inquiries and resolve basic issues Guide customers on bank products, services, and procedures Support account opening processes where required D. Compliance & Risk Management Ensure full compliance with KYC (Know Your Customer) and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) requirements Detect and report suspicious transactions in line with internal policies Maintain confidentiality of customer information Comply with Bank of Tanzania (BOT) regulations and internal policies E. Operational Support Assist in end-of-day branch processes and reporting Support audit requirements and provide necessary documentation Participate in branch activities including product campaigns and customer engagement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Accuracy of transactions (zero/acceptable error rate) Cash balancing differences(nil) Customer service satisfaction levels Compliance adherence (no audit exceptions) Turnaround time for customer transactions Requirements Qualifications & Experience Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Accounting, or related field Fresh graduates may be considered; prior teller or cash handling experience is an added advantage Basic knowledge of banking operations and financial products Working Conditions Office/branch-based role Requires handling cash and working within strict operational controls May require extended hours during peak periods
