The Church Nutrition Coordinator is responsible for improving the nutritional health of the church family and surrounding community by providing nutrition education, promoting healthy eating habits, reducing food insecurity, and developing sustainable nutrition initiatives that support whole-person wellness.

One Year Minimum
1. Doing ministry/preparing for ministry: 2-3 hours per week (8-12 hours per month)

Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Coordinate nutrition education workshops and healthy eating initiatives.
- →Oversee Nutrition Educators, Cooking Class Instructors, Community Garden Coordinator, Food Pantry Nutrition Specialist, and Meal Prep Coaches.
- →Recruit and mentor nutrition ministry volunteers.
- →Coordinate cooking demonstrations and meal planning classes.
- →Promote healthy eating through church communications and wellness events.
- →Build partnerships with local food banks, dietitians, farmers, and community organizations.
- →Support initiatives that address food insecurity within the church and community.
- →Maintain participation records.
- →Provide monthly ministry updates.
- →Each Coordinator will:
- →Attend one monthly Wellness Leadership Team meeting.
- →Recruit and mentor volunteers within your ministry area.
- →Support major church wellness events.
- →Collaborate with other wellness coordinators.
- →Submit a brief monthly activity report with participation numbers, accomplishments, challenges, and goals for the following month.
- →Uphold the mission, values, and policies of the church.
- Reduced food insecurity.
- Improved healthy eating habits.
- Increased participation in nutrition programs.
- Volunteer engagement.
- Community partnership development.
