Ministering to the Body of Christ, the unchurched, and assisting the pastor with the work of the ministry related to outreach-evangelism
Two years minimum
1.Doing ministry/preparing for ministry: four hours a week
2.Participating in meetings/training: five hours a month
Responsibilities
~1 min read1. When assigned, attend Evangelism planning meetings to represent the Deacon/Deaconess Community Engagement Team and communicate upcoming projects.
2. Identify community needs by building genuine lasting connections with community members.
3. Help with monthly outreach-evangelism hope house projects including planning, managing (when assigned), setup, execution, and breakdown.
4. Help with monthly outreach-evangelism prayer walks including planning, promoting, providing spiritual support, safety presence, and serving as outreach ministers.
5. If assigned, track Deacon & Deaconess community engagement team participation, community members served (including souls won).
6. Report special needs to the Chairman of Deacons & Deaconesses who will route them to the appropriate leadership (Senior Pastor, Outreach Area Director, and Evangelism Director, and Prayer Group Leaders).
7. Rejoice with/congratulate your team and other project volunteers on special accomplishments and events.
8. Pray regularly for the leaders of the church, members, and for the adopted communities.
9. Meet with and offer input to the senior pastor and appropriate staff members regarding any special or critical issues within the church.
10. Attend deacon/deaconess meetings once or twice a month to discuss needs and budget items.
11. Serve in worship as requested, including communion preparation, altar service, prayer, and baptism support.
