The Assistant Director, Student Recruitment and Admissions, serves as an active and critical member of the Chicago Booth Full-Time MBA recruiting team. In addition to participating in a variety of admissions-related programming and supporting the application evaluation process, the Assistant Director has an integral role in the planning and execution of admissions events for Booth’s MBA programs.

This position is not eligible for employer-sponsored employment authorization.

Responsibilities

  • →Serves as an integral member of the Admissions Committee. Conducts student recruitment, evaluation, and yield activities. Duties include reading and evaluating applications; traveling domestically and internationally; and attending and hosting various recruiting and yield events.
  • →Serves as a resource for candidates seeking to learn more about Chicago Booth and our programs. Hosts presentations, facilitates panel discussions, and participates in other informational sessions on behalf of Booth Admissions.
  • →Supports the Associate Director, Student Recruitment and Admissions, with planning and execution of recruitment events on campus, off campus, and virtually. Assists with planning, budget management, and contract execution, as well as facilitates communication with vendors, day-of event logistics, and other event-related duties as delegated by the Associate Director.
  • →Partners with other team members and school partners as needed on admissions-related events.
  • →Collaborates regularly with student event volunteers for both the planning and execution of events.
  • →Contributes to the management of events within the Slate CRM system, including but not limited to, event creation, including updating registration forms and communications, event mailings, including content editing and query building, and post-event survey data collection and analysis.
  • →Provides support for other projects relating to events, admissions operations, and recruitment management.
  • →Recruits and/or evaluates applicants for admission by interviewing, reading applications and summarizing evaluations. Completes these tasks independently or with some guidance and instruction from others.
  • →Maintains relationships with all individuals involved in the recruitment process, including routinely counseling students and parents regarding the admission process.
  • →Performs other related work as needed.

Requirements

Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

  • Bachelor’s degree.

 

  • Background in higher education.
  • Organizing and hosting events for small and large groups, in person and virtually.

 

Technical Skills or Knowledge:

  • Familiar with an admissions CRM system, particularly Slate, and familiarity with Zoom functionality.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

  • Handle multiple detailed tasks and projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines with frequent interruptions.
  • Proven record of successful time management and organizational skills, as well as exceptional attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and diplomatically with colleagues, students, school partners, and external contacts through a variety of communication methods, including in person, email, and phone).
  • Professional demeanor, including tact, discretion, and a customer service-oriented approach.

 

  • This position is currently expected to work a minimum three days per week in the office.
  • Participate in domestic and international recruitment travel.
