The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Office of Information Technology and Management (ITM) is a key entity supporting ICT systems and services globally across 155+ country offices and partners. The Service Automation Engineering Unit plays a crucial role in enhancing automation solutions that drive efficiency and innovation aligned with UNDP's strategic goals, including the Digital Transformation agenda.
The Development Analyst under the supervision of the Service Automation Engineering Specialist will support the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of software applications and automation tools. The analyst will contribute to the technical implementation of solutions using technologies including Rust, Node.js, Python, and Docker. This role ensures the integration of modern software development practices and supports innovation in service automation.

Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is required, Or
A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the areas mentioned above, in combination with an additional two years of qualifying experience will be given due consideration in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Minimum of 2 years (with master’s degree) or 4 years (with bachelor’s degree) of relevant work experience, preferably in the area of software development, automation, or related areas, ideally within an international or UN environment.
- Proven experience in Rust, Node.js, Python programming languages.
- Hands-on experience with Docker containerization technology.
- Experience with software development lifecycle, version control (e.g., Git), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Microsoft technology stack, including experience with Microsoft Azure (cloud services, app hosting, and identity management), Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate), and integration with Microsoft 365 services and APIs (e.g., Teams, SharePoint, Graph API).
- Experience with Google technology stack, including experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Workspace APIs (Gmail, Drive, Docs), and development or integration of solutions using Google services and automation tools.
- Experience working in a multicultural and multidisciplinary team and adapt to evolving technical environments.
- UN experience.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Knowledge of Spanish and/or French is desirable.
