ICAO Roster-Airport Electrical Engineering Expert

Under the direction of Director of the Capacity Development and Implementation Bureau (CDI), the Field Operations Section (FOS) is responsible for the development, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and closure of Technical Assistance (TA) and Technical Cooperation (TC) projects. It drafts agreements and aids in creating country-specific and regional projects and programs by identifying priority areas, developing objectives, activities, and deliverables, setting timelines, and specifying budgetary requirements. 

Additionally, under the direction of the CDI Director, the Field Personnel Section (FPS/FRU) recruits international experts to implement Capacity Development and Implementation projects across various Civil Aviation fields and manages the ICAO Roster of Experts.

Serve as senior electrical engineer for maintenance activities.                

Supervise the other staff members in the field of electrical engineering.

Review proposals for projects covering design, specifications, and construction for electrical facilities.

Initiate proposals for corrective action on deficiencies in existing facilities in the electrical field.

Review the preventive maintenance programme in regard to electrical facilities.

Review, when required, budgetary estimates for electrical facilities

Co-ordinate with chiefs of other disciplines within the maintenance organization

Train national counterpart engineers where required.

• Extensive experience at a responsible level in the installation, maintenance and operation of electrical facilities, specifically for airports such as power generation, electrical power distribution, airfield lighting, and communications.
• At least seven years of operation and maintenance experience in electrical engineering at airports.
• Familiar with the latest manufacturing and design criteria; familiarity and work experience with electronically operated equipment.
• Knowledge of ICAO and other international electrical standards.
• Report preparation ability is essential.
• Ability to train other electrical engineers.

• A good command of oral and written English.

• A working knowledge of French or another official language of the Organization (Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish).

It should be noted that this is a prospective position intended for experts interested in consultancy contracts. (short and long term).

Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.
