Architect - Shanghai

As an international architectural firm, UNS is active in the broadest fields of architecture. Our project portfolio covers every aspect of architecture, ranging from small to large scale projects, research and theory.  The atmosphere within each of our offices is international, multidisciplinary, design-oriented and ambitious, but also open, non-hierarchical, team-based and friendly, with attention to personal well-being, knowledge development, and career planning.

We are currently looking for an Architect to join our Shanghai office:

• Professional Bachelors or Master degree in Architecture, or the equivalent

• 5-8 years or above of experience as an architect or designer at a leading international design firm, with involvement in built projects

• Strong aesthetic sensibilities and design skills, with demonstrated creativity in design development and detailing.

• Proven experience in cultural, large-scale retail, commercial or mixed-use projects.

• Technical problem solver with the ability to work out architectural solutions through innovative thinking (documented through construction and shop drawings/details)

• Extensive experience with façade, architecture, and interior detailing and interfaces

• Excellent knowledge of products, materials and construction methods, especially in Asia

• Experience in writing performance specifications

• Proactive, self-motivated, and team-focused, with a commitment to continual learning and mentoring

• Fluency in written and spoken English; additional fluency in Cantonese is preferred

• Strong proficiency in Rhinoceros, Grasshopper, Revit, AutoCAD, Enscape, and Adobe Creative Suite; knowledge of D5 Render is a plus
