Catholic Relief Services is the official international humanitarian agency of the Catholic community in the United States. CRS’ relief and development work is accomplished through programs of emergency response, HIV, health, agriculture, education, microfinance and peacebuilding.

CRS Philippines, established in 1945, is the longest running, continuous CRS country program in the world with extensive programming in emergency response, early recovery and disaster risk reduction, climate resilience and peace governance. The Philippines country program has over 70 staff members in Manila, Davao, and Cotabato City. CRS Philippines is committed to collaborating with our strong network of church partners, national and subnational government agencies and secular NGOs throughout the country.

As a member of the CAPACities project team, you will monitor and report on all project activities in support of Catholic Relief Services’ (CRS) work serving the poor and vulnerable. Your thorough and service-oriented approach will ensure that the project consistently applies best practices and constantly works towards improving the impact of its benefits to those we serve.

Responsibilities

  • Support the coordination and organize implementation of all assigned project activities as outlined in the detailed implementation plan in line with CRS program quality principles and standards, donor requirements, and good practices.
  • Support accountability through coordinating project evaluation activities and assisting partners in their efforts to collect and analyze project data per specified mechanisms and tools. Collaborate with local partner(s) to prepare reports per established reporting schedule. 
  • Complete project documentation for assigned activities. Assist with identifying information for case studies and reports on promising practices.
  • Ensure documentation and learning properly accompanies project activities throughout the project cycle. Support accountability through coordinating project evaluation activities and guiding LGU partners in their efforts to reflect on project experiences. Analyze implementation challenges and report any inconsistencies and/or gaps to inform adjustments to plans and implementation schedules. 
  • Support and coordinate capacity building and technical support activities to ensure assigned project activities related to community based DRR work are implemented by project guidelines and standards.
  • Ensure project report and documentation for assigned activities is complete with all required documents and is filed by agency and donor requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree relevant to the area.
  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience in project support.  
  • Experience in participatory action planning and community engagement.
  • Experience coordinating, monitoring project activities and collecting relevant data preferred.
  • Experience in the field of DRR and Climate Resilience and for an NGO would be a plus.
  • Proficient in using MS Windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Observation, active listening and analysis skills with ability to make sound judgment
  • Good relationship management skills and the ability to work closely with local partners and community members
  • Attention to details, accuracy and timeliness in executing assigned responsibilities
  • Proactive, results-oriented and service-oriented

Required Languages: Bisaya, Tagalog and English are required

Travel: include percentage of required travel, if applicable. Could be stated as Must be willing and able to travel up to 30%. 

Supervisory Responsibilities: Contractual Field Assistant, as needed
