Sanitation Lead Person

• Assist with the day-to-day operation of the facility’s Sanitation function.
• Help coordinate and organize major cycle-ending cleanups with Sanitation and Plant Leadership.
• Support the training, education, and safety of Sanitation team members.
• Serve as a Sanitation Subject Matter Expert within the production facility after receiving required approvals and certifications.
• Participate in packaging, processing, auxiliary equipment, and production cycle-ending cleanup activities.
• Clean and sanitize production equipment, packaging rooms, processing areas, and other assigned areas across Campus production facilities.
• Follow proper Lockout/Tagout procedures and all required safety practices.
• Safely handle and dispense cleaning chemicals according to established procedures.
• Operate forklifts, high-reach equipment, can washers, and other required sanitation equipment after receiving appropriate training and certification.
• Use high-pressure rinses, air wands, cleaning chemicals, hand-cleaning tools, squeegees, motorized sweepers, and other sanitation equipment.
• Remove and properly dispose of waste and return cleaning equipment, hoses, tables, and mats to their designated locations.
• Follow standard work instructions and use sanitation checklists to verify work is completed properly.
• Work closely with Production, Sanitation Leadership, and other team members to ensure equipment and facilities are cleaned safely and effectively.
• Help identify and communicate safety concerns to Plant Leadership.
• Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), SQF standards, food safety requirements, and company safety procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Previous sanitation, manufacturing, food production, or similar industrial experience preferred.
• Ability to effectively communicate with team members and leadership.
• Leadership skills and the ability to help train and support other team members.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures and checklists.
• Ability to respond positively and quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Current forklift license or ability to maintain required forklift certification.
• Willingness and flexibility to work within other Hanover campus production facilities as needed.
• Ability and willingness to safely work with both mild and harsh cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to become trained and certified on required sanitation equipment and processes, including can washers and equipment boil-outs.
• Comfortable working at heights and on elevated surfaces.
• Ability to stand and walk frequently throughout the shift and perform physical activities including reaching, bending, climbing, squatting, and kneeling.
• Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in a plant and warehouse environment around production equipment.
• Must wear required PPE and non-slip footwear and follow all company safety, GMP, and food safety requirements.
