Product Owner / Product Manager

At VALD, our Product team turns ideas and client feedback into reality. We work at the intersection of health, performance, and technology, building products that help professionals deliver better outcomes for their clients.

The team is split into two functions, Product Strategy and Engineering. We collaborate closely to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions.

• Lead product discovery to understand user needs, functionality gaps, and pain points.
• Translate insights into clear requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Maintain or contribute a prioritised backlog aligned with business priorities.
• Facilitate agile ceremonies including planning, grooming, and retrospectives.
• Support coordination across engineering and product teams.
• Contribute to technical discussions to support solution design.
• Manage external requests and reduce distractions for delivery teams.
• Align cross-team dependencies and unblock delivery.
• Contribute to roadmap development and long-term planning.

• Experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role, in a technology environment.
• Comfortable engaging with engineers to understand technical decisions and trade-offs.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, backlog management, and delivery tracking.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Experience in one or more of the following domains:
  • Digital Health (e.g. telehealth, remote monitoring, EHR integrations)
    
  • Sports Science Technology
  • SAAS platforms, cloud-native architectures, mobile app ecosystems, and related concepts such as API-first design, identity management, authentication, and compliance frameworks
• Ability to manage competing priorities and drive alignment across teams.
• A growth mindset aligned with VALD’s culture of continuous learning and development.
• Have full Australian working rights
• Are located within commuting distance of VALD HQ in Newstead, Australia
