Responsibilities

~1 min read
  • Hire, coach, schedule, and develop the IT team – setting clear priorities and performance expectations, building runbooks, cross-training to eliminate single-person coverage gaps, and running regular 1:1s and performance reviews
  • Mentor team members – identify learning opportunities, provide technical guidance, and support each person’s growth
  • Lead daily helpdesk operations – intake, triage, prioritization, assignment, and resolution against defined response and resolution targets – and serve as the escalation point for complex or sensitive issues; keep the queue healthy with no aging tickets and no silent drops
  • Route system and platform issues to the Enterprise Systems team per the defined routing standard while owning the user’s experience through the handoff – and build and maintain a knowledge base and self-service resources so repeat issues get solved once
  • Own the full device lifecycle – procurement, imaging, deployment, maintenance, refresh, and secure disposal – across laptops, desktops, monitors, docking stations, phones, headsets, printers, and peripherals; maintain an accurate, auditable hardware inventory with device standardization, spare stock levels, warranties, and refresh cycles
  • Manage conference room and meeting technology – displays, cameras, audio, and Teams room equipment – so meetings start on time without IT in the room; support on-site network equipment and physical connectivity including switches, access points, cabling, and the wiring closet
  • Plan and lead the transition from the hybrid on-premises Active Directory environment to a fully cloud Microsoft Entra environment – assessing dependencies, defining the roadmap and cutover plan, and retiring legacy infrastructure with minimal disruption
  • Guide the integration and automation between Rippling and Entra so employee accounts are provisioned, updated, and deprovisioned automatically from the HR system of record
  • Conduct Microsoft 365 investigations and discovery – running audits, reviewing user activity, searching Teams chats and email, recovering SharePoint and OneDrive items, and selecting the appropriate discovery tools for each request
  • Execute endpoint security standards including patching, encryption, antivirus, and compliance configuration – verify and report device compliance, remediate gaps, and escalate suspected incidents immediately per defined thresholds
  • Use centralized logging and monitoring tools such as Splunk to review system activity, troubleshoot issues, and identify and escalate potential security concerns
  • Define penetration testing scope in partnership with Information Security and prioritize and drive remediation of findings to closure
  • Establish, document, and regularly test disaster recovery plans
  • Support security awareness and phishing simulation programs at the user level
  • Plan and lead IT projects – defining scope, priorities, timelines, resources, and accountability and keeping stakeholders informed on progress and risks
  • Manage IT vendor relationships, contract renewals, software licensing, and billing – keeping license counts right-sized, reconciling invoices, and tracking spend against budget
  • Develop, document, and maintain IT policies, procedures, and standards and keep them current as the environment changes
  • Deliver a ready-to-work setup on day one for every new hire and complete offboarding access removal and device recovery on schedule with documented verification – partnering with People Operations to uphold onboarding and offboarding standards
  • Develop and deliver organization-wide IT training on company technology, software, and operating systems
  • Required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned

  • Experience with centralized logging and monitoring tools such as Splunk
