CONTEXT

Founded in 2008, Verod Capital (“The Firm” or “Verod”) is a leading African investment management firm that focuses on high-growth businesses in Anglophone West Africa, particularly Nigeria and Ghana - through its private equity funds - and on early-stage tech-enabled businesses in Nigeria and the rest of Africa - through its venture capital fund (Verod-Kepple Africa Ventures).

Verod’s private equity arm manages over $360 million in assets and has invested in over 20 middle-market high-growth companies across 3 funds. Verod’s private equity funds invest in a range of industries including consumer products and services, education, agriculture, financial and business services with investments ranging from US$10 million to US$25 million. The venture capital fund focuses on investments in FinTech, EdTech, Logistics and HealthTech with investments ranging from US$150,000 to US$7.5 million.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• 
  Track deal pipeline and conduct market research and outreach to facilitate origination efforts
• 
  Screen potential investment opportunities through extensive financial, operational and market analysis as well as financial modelling, to provide recommendations on opportunities to consider further
• 
  Assist in preparation and presentation of deal memos and recommendations to the Investment Committee
• 
  Provide support on and/or run parts of the transaction process (due diligence, negotiations, deal structuring, exits, etc)
• 
  Monitor and analyze key metrics of partner companies and provide support to management teams to execute on value creation plans
• 
  Support with reporting to and engagement with Fund investors
  

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• 
  A mature, responsible and resourceful individual with sound judgement and the ability to take initiative and problem-solve
• 
  High level oral and written communications skills and proven attention to detail
• 
  Ideally 5+ years’ experience in a PE, M&A, Investment Banking or Consulting role spent conducting financial and operational analysis and engaging with senior management teams
• 
  High proficiency with MS Office Suite especially Excel and Power Point
• 
  Advanced level modelling and financial analysis skills, including knowledge of operating models, detailed financial projections and various types of valuation and returns analysis
• 
  Good time management skills are a must for this role
• 
  Willingness to travel and work on-site at partner companies when required

COMPENSATION
