We’re looking for a Senior Compensation Analyst to partner closely with the Compensation Manager in building, operating, and enhancing our compensation programs. In this role, you’ll take ownership of defined compensation processes and analytical workstreams while contributing to broader program improvements.
This is an experienced individual contributor role designed for someone who is highly quantitative, analytically rigorous, and comfortable operating with minimal day-to-day oversight in a lean environment. You’ll work extensively in Excel, build and maintain models, and apply structured thinking to solve complex but well-scoped problems. You will support compensation initiatives across base pay, incentives, and equity programs, helping ensure accuracy, consistency, and sound decision-making.
You’ll be part of a small, high-impact People team supporting a technically sophisticated and intellectually curious company. This role is open to remote work in the US or hybrid in our Berkeley office.
Partner closely with the Compensation Manager to deliver and continuously improve compensation programs and processes
Support the administration and analysis of equity compensation programs, including grant modeling and reporting
Experience designing or administering equity compensation programs tied to company ownership percentages required
Own discrete compensation workstreams end-to-end, including defined portions of annual merit, bonus, and equity activities
Build, maintain, and enhance complex compensation models in Excel to support decision-making, scenario analysis, and workforce planning
Conduct market pricing, job evaluations, and internal pay equity analyses across a global workforce
Analyze compensation scenarios using multiple quantitative inputs and provide clear, well-reasoned recommendations
Support deferred compensation programs, including quantitative modeling and coordination with internal and external partners
Help develop scalable compensation processes, tools, documentation, and controls appropriate for a small but growing team
Leverage Workday and related systems to support compensation administration, reporting, and data integrity
Collaborate closely with HR Business Partners, Finance, Legal, and other stakeholders on compensation-related initiatives
Provide informal mentorship to junior resources or contractors on modeling approaches and analytical workflows, as applicable
Typically, 4–6+ years of progressive experience in compensation, total rewards, or a closely related quantitative HR or finance-adjacent field
Experience using Workday HCM for compensation administration, reporting, and data management required
Exposure to equity compensation programs; startup or high-growth company experience is a plus; private equity experience a plus
Advanced Excel skills, including experience with large datasets, scenario modeling, data validation, array formulas, and cap table management
Strong quantitative and analytical skills with demonstrated experience building and interpreting compensation or financial models
Working knowledge of compensation fundamentals, including job architecture, market pricing, salary structures, incentives, and equity compensation
Experience supporting compensation programs in a global or multi-jurisdictional environment preferred
Ability to operate effectively in a lean team environment with defined ownership and accountability
Familiarity with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python) for data analysis or automation is a plus
