Preventative Maintenance Technician

Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM during training, possible shift change to 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM following training period.

Starting wage: $28.00/hour - $30.00/hour DOE

Commercial Driver’s license A or B CDL is preferred but not required.

Mechanic tools and tool box required. Shop also has tools onsite to use.  

• →Perform repairs and inspections, safety checks, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on diesel vehicles.
• →Performs repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services.
• →Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
• →Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
• →Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
• →Reviews, completes or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
• →Performs maintenance related work as required.
• →Helping other team members with repairs as needed.
• →Having professional and courteous interactions with our drivers when needed.
• →Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
• →Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
• →Ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks.

• Experience in commercial or similar repair field is preferred but not required.
• Willingness to learn new skills, and a positive attitude.
• Driver’s license.
• Basic tool set and toolbox.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn test diagnostic laptop and software.
• Class B CDL or ability to obtain within 90 days of start of position.
• Hydraulic experience is a plus.

• Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
• Work environment may be indoors in a shop, or outdoors to repair trucks on the road. Usually well-lighted and ventilated. Sometimes necessary to work in awkward or tight positions and to handle greasy or dirty tools. These factors require following basic safety precautions.
