Support the apprentice. Assess the standard. Help residential childcare practice grow stronger.
Residential childcare is skilled, demanding and deeply important work.
Apprentices need to understand more than the standard. They need to develop professional judgement, safe practice, confidence and the ability to reflect on the care they provide for children and young people.
As our Residential Childcare Trainer Assessor, you’ll help them build that practice.
You’ll deliver group learning and carry out workplace assessments for apprentices working towards Residential Childcare standards at Level 4 and Level 5. You’ll complete progress reviews, set SMART targets, support Functional Skills and help apprentices build the evidence they need to progress.
You’ll also work with employer partners and awarding bodies to support and develop the college’s offer, while contributing to IQA activity within the existing team.
This is a role for someone with strong occupational experience in residential childcare and confidence in workplace assessment. You’ll understand the standards, responsibilities and professional behaviours expected in the sector, and you’ll be able to support apprentices to apply those expectations in real working environments.
