Are you a proven leader in civil construction who thrives on building high-performing teams, driving profitability, and delivering complex projects from the ground up? We’re looking for a Civil Area Manager to lead and grow our civil operations across commercial site development and utility projects in Southwest Montana. This is a high-impact leadership role where you’ll shape the future of our civil division - overseeing everything from strategy and financial performance to project execution and team development.

ABOUT WILLIAMS: Williams is the Northwest's leading specialty civil contractor. From federal to state to private contracts, we do what we do best: we build Montana. Hospitals. Schools. Roads. Housing. We’ve laid 400 miles of pipe and counting. We're agile enough for fast-paced construction schedules, strong enough to move mountains. We take pride in our crews. We work together. Mud, rain, or snow, we get the job done.

Located in beautiful Belgrade, Montana, outdoor adventures surround us. There’s no better place to live. Together, we build and play in Montana.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Drive Strategy & Growth: Develop and execute strategic plans to grow the civil division, expand market presence, and align with company goals
  • Own Financial Performance: Manage P&L, budgets, forecasting, billing, and contracts to ensure profitability, compliance, and cost control
  • Lead Project Execution: Oversee Project Managers and Superintendents across all phases, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to quality standards
  • Optimize Operations: Manage resources, schedules, and backlog using KPIs to maximize efficiency, productivity, and project outcomes
  • Build Teams & Relationships: Lead, mentor, and develop teams while strengthening client partnerships and driving new business opportunities

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field
  • Proven leadership experience in civil construction, managing teams and complex projects
  • Strong expertise in site development, earthwork, utilities, and infrastructure work
  • Demonstrated success managing budgets, P&L, and financial forecasting
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to think strategically while staying close to field operations
  • Knowledge of industry regulations, safety standards, and best practices
  • Experience with project management tools and Microsoft Office
  • PMP, CCM, or similar certifications are a plus
