Responsibilities

  • →Review Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for historic restoration and commercial construction projects.
  • →Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates by analyzing construction documents, specifications, and market conditions.
  • →Perform quantity take-offs for selected trades and develop detailed, trade-specific scopes of work.
  • →Create, manage, and evaluate bid packages while identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • →Collaborate with architects, engineers, owners, and other stakeholders to align project scope, schedule, permits, and costs with historic preservation standards.
  • →Utilize estimating software, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel to develop reliable and competitive estimates.
  • →Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project walkthroughs as required.


Physical Requirements

  • →Ability to perform work primarily in an office environment with occasional construction site visits.
  • →Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use a computer for extended periods.
  • →Ability to travel to job sites, attend meetings, and conduct field observations as needed.
  • →Ability to communicate effectively with project team members and stakeholders.


Qualifications

  • →Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; or 5–8 years of construction estimating experience in lieu of a degree.
  • →Proven experience estimating commercial construction projects.
  • →Proficiency with estimating software, including Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel.
  • →Experience with historic restoration projects is highly preferred.
  • →Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • →Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
