Job Title: Masonicare Independent Living Recreation Intern
Department: Office of Community Engagement
Student Employment Type: Federal Work-Study        
Responsibilities:
  • Assist with planning, preparing, setting up, and cleaning up approved recreation programs and events.
  • Welcome residents, encourage participation, and provide courteous program assistance.
  • Help facilitate games, crafts, discussions, wellness activities, and special events under staff supervision.
  • Prepare calendars, flyers, sign-up sheets, activity materials, and program supplies.
  • Track attendance, gather participant feedback, and help summarize program participation.
  • Maintain safe, clean, organized, and welcoming activity spaces.
  • Follow resident-rights, privacy, safety, infection-prevention, and confidentiality requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Interest in recreation, event management, hospitality, aging services, or a related field.
  • Positive, creative, dependable, and comfortable interacting with older adults.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organization, and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to follow directions, work as part of a team, and assist with light program setup.
Hours of Position:
  • Flexible schedule arranged with the supervisor around the student's class schedule; hours may vary based on department needs and approved events.
