Your Couch. Your Clinical Style. Your Ellie Fam.
Calling all Tennessee therapists who believe great therapy doesn’t have to feel stiff, scripted, or boring.
Ellie Mental Health is looking for an Outpatient Therapist to provide remote care in Tennessee. If you’re passionate about helping people, enjoy thinking outside the box, and believe a little humor can go a long way, you might fit right in.

At Ellie, we’re trying to do mental health care a little differently.

First Things First: Who Is Ellie?
Ellie Mental Health started in 2015 when Erin Pash, LMFT, and Kyle Keller, LICSW, opened the very first Ellie clinic in Minneapolis.
Fast-forward a bit, and the Ellie Fam has grown into a nationwide community of locally owned and operated clinics.
From day one, the goal has been simple: make mental health care more accessible and reduce the stigma surrounding it.
There are plenty of barriers in mental health care. We’d rather spend our energy figuring out how to knock those barriers down.

What’s in It for You? ✨

We believe therapists deserve good things too.

You’ll get:

  • A unique compensation model with industry-leading compensation
  • A workplace built around creativity, humor, compassion, acceptance, determination, and authenticity
  • Additional benefits and perks
  • A remote environment where you can provide care from Tennessee
  • A team that understands that being a great therapist and having a life outside of therapy can—and should—coexist

Your Typical Ellie Day

There’s no magic formula for being a great therapist, so we’re not looking for someone who follows one.

Instead, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Complete diagnostic assessments and evaluate client needs
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Provide meaningful outpatient therapy
  • Use creative interventions to help clients reach—and sometimes exceed—their goals
  • Complete case notes, treatment plan reviews, diagnostic updates, and other required documentation
  • Submit session documentation according to company guidelines
  • Maintain a minimum of 27 client visits per week for full-time clinicians
  • Coordinate care with case managers, families, employers, medical professionals, schools, and other Ellie team members when appropriate
  • Build positive relationships with clients and provide an excellent overall experience
  • Participate in clinical staff meetings and trainings
  • Handle the occasional “other thing we forgot to put on the list but is totally important” responsibility 😉

What Do You Bring to the Ellie Couch?

You’ll need:

  • A master's degree in behavioral sciences or a related field from an accredited college or university
  • Clinical licensure in Tennessee, such as LMFT, LPC, LCSW, LP, or another applicable license
  • Experience completing diagnostic assessments
  • Experience creating treatment plans and clinical case notes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to demonstrate and maintain appropriate professional boundaries
  • Strong organization and follow-through with documentation
  • Comfort working with a diverse client population
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and electronic health record systems
  • Valant experience is a plus
  • Fully licensed clinicians are ideally credentialed with insurance panels

And Then There’s the “You” Part

We’re not looking for a robot with a therapy license.

e’re looking for someone who cares about people, knows how to connect, can roll with the occasional curveball, and isn’t afraid to bring some personality into their work.

At Ellie, authenticity is a value—not a buzzword.

If you’re a Tennessee clinician who wants to provide quality care, work with a supportive team, and practice somewhere that leaves room for creativity and humor, we’d love to meet you.

One Last Important Detail

Ellie Mental Health clinics are independently owned and operated by franchisees. Employment matters, including hiring, compensation, benefits, and other employment decisions, are handled directly by the applicable franchisee.
Ellie Mental Health is committed to equal employment opportunity and inclusivity. We do not discriminate based on race, sex, religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, or other protected categories.

Independent franchisees are Equal Opportunity employers committed to diverse and inclusive workforces. Franchisees are independent business people and not employed by Ellie Family Services, PLLP, d/b/a “Ellie Mental Health”, Ellie MSO, LLC, or Ellie FAM LLC. Thus, each franchisee and each franchisee clinic is unique and the franchisee is alone responsible for all employment matters in their clinic, including the terms and conditions of employment for their employees, such as hiring, firing, discipline, supervision, staffing and scheduling. Depending on the clinic location you select, the job for which you apply may be in a clinic owned and operated by an independent franchisee, and not with the corporate-owned clinics, which are based in Minnesota. This means the franchisee, not Ellie Family Services, PLLP, is responsible for all employment matters at the clinic. If you are hired for the job, the franchisee will be your employer, not Ellie Family Services, PLLP or any of its affiliated entities. For franchisee clinic locations, please contact the franchisee organization directly to the extent you need assistance in completing forms or otherwise participating in that franchisee’s application process.

Ellie Mental Health is committed to a policy of Equal Employment Opportunity and will not discriminate against an applicant or employee on the basis of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, citizenship status, age, disability, veteran or military status, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, genetic information, or any other legally-recognized protected basis under federal, state or local laws, regulations or ordinances. Applicants with disabilities may be entitled to reasonable accommodation under the terms of the Americans with Disabilities Act and certain state or local laws. A reasonable accommodation is a change or adjustment to a job or work environment that will ensure an equal employment opportunity without imposing an undue hardship on the operation of the business.
