We’re looking for our next Corporate Action Analyst. Could It Be You?
At Questrade, we are transforming the financial services industry for Canadians. We are a technology-driven, client-centric company dedicated to making investing easier, more transparent, and more affordable. As we continue to scale, we are actively modernizing our operations to ensure our back-office processes are as innovative as our trading platforms.
We are looking for a highly technical Corporate Action Analyst to join our back-office operations team. In this unique hybrid role, you won't just be processing dividends, stock splits, and mergers—you will be rethinking how they are processed. Your primary goal will be to design, build, and deploy automation workflows (using tools like n8n) and leverage Large Language Models (like Claude) to parse complex financial documents, eliminate manual data entry, and drive unprecedented efficiency within the Corporate Action team.

In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Automate & Innovate: Automated workflows using n8n to streamline the end-to-end processing of mandatory and voluntary corporate actions.
AI-Driven Data Extraction: LeverageAI to automatically parse, extract, and structure data from complex, unstructured corporate action notices from depositories (CDS, DTC) and issuers.
Process Engineering: Audit existing manual processes within the Corporate Actions team, identify inefficiencies, and architect technical solutions to reduce risk and save time.
Core Corporate Action Processing: Process voluntary and/or mandatory Corporate Actions accurately and in a timely manner, including event set-up, announcement and processing of various Corporate Actions events (e.g. tender offers, distribution, dividends, elections, rights offerings, proxy, consent offers etc). This includes reconciling, monitoring and posting of payments to client accounts while also handling any related client inquiries
API & Systems Integration: Connect various internal databases, third-party financial APIs, and workflow tools to ensure seamless data flow across our back-office systems.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the bridge between Operations and Engineering, translating complex corporate action logic into automated, scalable technical rules.
So are YOU our next Corporate Action Analyst? You are if you…
Domain Knowledge: 2+ years of experience in back-office brokerage operations, wealth management, or clearing, with a strong understanding of Corporate Actions (mandatory and voluntary) and depository functions (CDS, DTC, etc.).
Workflow Automation Expertise: Hands-on experience building complex, multi-step automations
Problem-Solving Mindset: A relentless drive to say, "How can we automate this?" rather than "This is how we've always done it."
Detail-Oriented: A deep understanding of the financial risks associated with corporate action errors, ensuring that all automated workflows include rigorous validation and failsafes.
Proficiency in Python or JavaScript/Node.js for custom scripting within automation workflows.
Experience with SQL for database querying and reconciliation.
Familiarity with Canadian and US market regulatory frameworks regarding client entitlements and tax implications on corporate actions.
Compensation Information:
Base salary range: $55,000 - $60,000
The final compensation package will be commensurate with the successful candidate's experience, skills, and geographic location (Canada). It includes a comprehensive benefits plan and a competitive incentive (bonus) program for Full-Time Permanent roles.
