Full-Time Family Assistant (Pittsford, NY)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 11:00 AM–7:00 PM (live-out); occasional weekends/overnights a few times a year when both parents travel
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week

Family Assistant

A busy, warm family in Pittsford, NY is looking for a long-term live-out Family Assistant to support their household and three school-aged children (ages 9, 12, and 16). During school hours, you’ll keep the home organized and running smoothly. In the afternoons and evenings, you’ll drive the children to their activities and make sure homework gets done. The family also has two friendly, well-behaved doodles who need some attention during the day. A family vehicle is provided for all driving. The ideal candidate communicates well, builds real connections with older kids and teens, and takes initiative in a fast-moving home.

Responsibilities:

• Meet the children after school (they usually ride the bus home) and oversee homework completion
• Drive the children to and from after-school activities in the family-provided vehicle
• Organize and tidy common areas, bedrooms, closets, and storage spaces
• Handle family laundry, including washing, folding, and putting away
• Run light household errands
• Care for the family’s two dogs during the day, including let-outs, feeding, and attention as needed
• Keep the parents updated on schedules, activities, and household needs
• Cover occasional weekends/overnights a few times a year when both parents are away

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Family Assistant, Nanny, or in a similar household role with school-aged children and teens
• Valid driver’s license
• Comfortable with dogs
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills
• Reliable, proactive, and able to manage a busy family schedule
• Available for occasional weekend/overnight coverage
• Long-term commitment
• Must be able to provide 3–5 professional references
