Job Description
Select’s Transportation Safety Analyst manages risk, compliance, and real-time safety tracking for our mixed fleet of Class 8 semi-trucks and commercial company vehicles. Working directly from our corporate headquarters, the employee will analyze telematics data, audit dashcam footage, and reinforce company safety policies. This position plays a critical role in reducing corporate liability, ensuring DOT compliance, and fostering a proactive safety culture.
The essential job functions include, but are not limited to
Corporate Surveillance: Monitor live telematics dashboards and dual-facing dashcam alerts from the corporate office to identify high-risk driving behaviors.
Alert & Event Analysis: Evaluate triggered events—including harsh braking, speeding, tailgating, and distracted driving—to separate critical risks from false alarms.
DOT & FMCSA Compliance: Track semi-truck movement data to flag potential hours-of-service (HOS) violations and driver fatigue before they escalate into compliance issues.
Driver Manager Point of Contact: Issue immediate, professional corrective feedback to driver managers when severe safety violations occur.
Incident Management: Document and preserve critical video evidence, telemetry data, and incident timelines to support corporate insurance claims and legal inquiries.
Safety Metrics Reporting: Work with Sr. Safety Analyst to compile weekly and monthly safety scorecards to highlight fleet trends and driver performance.
Managerial Collaboration: Work alongside the EHS-DOT Safety team to design targeted driver coaching programs based on collected telematics insights.
