Axalp Technologies is a fast-moving company shaping the future of aviation and related fields through our specialized engineering development and prototyping for selected customers. Join our highly talented and motivated team, and work on challenging tasks developing cutting-edge systems, ranging from new-design eVTOL aircraft to solar-powered aircraft and other “advanced air mobility” (AAM) vehicles.

Must be Swiss citizen, or citizen of an EU/EFTA country, or otherwise already be eligible to work in Switzerland.

We are seeking an aircraft subsystems engineer with a focus on systems that include fluid flows of various types, including hydraulic systems, fuel systems, and cooling systems.

Your Contributions:
  • Lead requirements and architecture definition for aircraft subsystems for unconventional drones and aircraft.
  • Define downstream testing needs for verification and validation of aircraft subsystems, including measurement techniques.
  • Document aircraft subsystem architectures and designs for design reviews.
  • Conduct detailed design of aircraft subsystems, including hydraulic systems, fuel systems, and cooling systems.  Design work may include specifying subcomponents, ensuring proper interfacing between subcomponents, or hardware design of custom parts.
  • Use software tools to model aircraft subsystems.
  • Work with suppliers to source aircraft subsystems or subsystem components.
  • Lead integration design to incorporate aircraft subsystems into ground test rigs and into prototype aircraft.
  • Work with Lead Engineer to develop customer presentations on aircraft subsystems design and documentation.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field
  • 5+ years of professional experience.
  • Experience with aircraft subsystem design, analysis, simulation, integration, and testing.
  • Experience with the analysis of aircraft subsystem failure modes as well as architectural trade studies.
  • Ability to work independently a majority of the time.

Desirable Qualifications:
  • Solid industry experience in one or more specific aircraft subsystems, such as:
    • Fuel or lubrication systems
    • Hydraulic systems
    • Cooling systems
  • Direct experience with «non-conventional» aircraft, such as electric-powered aircraft or drones of any type.
  • Knowledge of requirements management

What we offer:
  • Become an integral part of a highly skilled and motivated team
  • Varied and exciting projects, including electric aircraft, VTOL systems, and uncrewed aircraft

Must be Swiss citizen, or citizen of an EU/EFTA country, or otherwise be eligible to work in Switzerland.
