Sola is an AI-native platform reinventing enterprise process automation and disrupting legacy RPA tools. Our AI agents can execute complex workflows across any application, browser, desktop, or legacy system—free from the limitations and fragility of traditional automation tools. Users simply record their screen, and Sola creates a custom agent to run that process at scale.

The opportunity at hand is enormous. Nearly every enterprise, across every industry, runs on processes that are still painfully manual. We're building the technology to change that. And we're just getting started.

We're hiring a small group of Forward Deployed Engineers to help bring Sola to the world's largest enterprises and rewrite the playbook for how automation is built in the enterprise.

Enterprise automation is one of the biggest opportunities in AI. Legacy automation platforms have been constrained by rigid rules, complex implementations, and brittle workflows.. Sola is changing that with AI agents that can reason, adapt, and execute work across enterprise systems: the next generation of a massive software category.

Sola today powers enterprise workflows across healthcare, finance, legal, logistics, and more, including at Fortune 500 companies. We've closed seven-figure enterprise deals with a lean team. The product is proven. The market is responding. Now we're building the team to scale it.

Work alongside David Fullerton, formerly CTO of Heap (Series C to acquisition) and Stack Overflow (Series A to E), as well as Sola's founders Neil Deshmukh and Jessica Wu. You'll have the opportunity to learn from exceptional engineers and help shape how the company grows.

We’re still early enough that individual contributions can meaningfully influence the company’s trajectory, and you’ll have a direct influence on how the FDE role evolves over time.

As a Forward Deployed Engineer at Sola, you'll combine hands-on technical execution with customer-facing communication and partnership.

  Dive deep on customer workflow failures using logs, browser tools, APIs, and code, then implement and verify fixes

  Build custom integrations and contribute production code to Sola's platform, turning recurring customer needs into reusable improvements

  Join customer calls alongside Customer Success, ask questions that clarify the problem, and own the solution through resolution

  Help customers onboard and adapt their workflows to Sola, including occasional travel for customer onboarding and key projects as needed

We're open to early-career engineers, new graduates with demonstrated programming ability, or strong customer-facing engineers who are comfortable writing production code.

You'll likely be a strong fit if you have:

• Strong technical foundations, whether from a CS degree with demonstrated coding abilities, or hands-on experience in a strong technical environment

• Flexibility to move across different customer environments, with a solid understanding of how core web technologies work and the ability to dive into complex desktop or legacy systems

• A strong sense of curiosity and a drive to go anywhere needed to solve tricky customer problems

• Excellent communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to turn complex technical findings into clear non-technical explanations

You'll work 5 days a week out of our office in NYC (we'll cover relocation!) and occasionally travel to customers as needed.
