Groundskeeper - Kino Sports Complex

Kino Sports Complex is the largest outdoor sporting and entertainment venue in southern Arizona, and we are looking for multiple Groundskeepers. In this position you will perform groundskeeping and maintenance work to ensure that sports fields within the assigned areas of Pima County Kino Sports Complex are safe and prepared for events.

Essential Functions:

• Experience with/knowledge of irrigation on native turf soil and sand base.
• Experience with/knowledge of sporting field layouts.
• Experience with turf maintenance or landscaping skills.
• Experience leading or supervising youth, community service workers, inmates, and/or volunteers in performing routine clean-up and maintenance duties.
• Experience and practical skills with computers.
  

Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver license is required at time of application. Valid AZ driver license is required at time of appointment along with a clean driving record. The successful applicant will be subject to a 39-month DOT Motor Vehicle Record review to determine applicant’s suitability to operate county vehicles in accordance with Pima County administrative procedures. Some positions may require possession of a valid Arizona Commercial Driver License (CDL) with appropriate endorsement(s) at the time of appointment or prior to completion of an initial/promotional probation period. Positions requiring a CDL are also subject to applicable State of Arizona and federal standards, rules, and regulations on physical requirements including drug and alcohol testing. Failure to obtain and maintain the required licenses and certifications shall be grounds for termination.

Physical/Sensory Requirements: Constantly operates and inspects mechanical equipment; Constantly positions self to use, inspect, clean or repair tools and machinery; Constantly observes details at close range; Frequently required to exchange accurate information; Frequently remains in a stationary position; Frequently moves tools and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds across the manufacturing floor; Frequently operates a motor vehicle safely and legally, in accordance with applicable state and federal transportation laws; Occasionally moves tools and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds across the manufacturing floor; Occasionally ascends/descends machinery and equipment to repair/service. Action Activity - bending, climbing, kneeling, reaching, squatting, stooping; Motion Activity - grasping; Hearing Activity - in noisy areas, on a radio, behind themselves, equipment alarms; Speaking Activity - in person, on the phone, on a radio; Vision - operate a motor vehicle, operate machinery, operate a forklift/power industrial equipment, distinguish colors, depth perception, and peripheral vision. Frequently required to lift, push or pull objects weighing up to 100 pounds.

Working Conditions: Works outdoors performing groundskeeping duties fore the sports fields within the assigned areas of Pima County Kino Sports Complex.
