Our client is one of Pakistan's leading diversified industrial groups, with more than seven decades of operating history and a listing on the Pakistan Stock Exchange.

  • A major exporter, shipping to customers in more than 45 countries across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Americas and Oceania.
  • A long-term strategic supplier to leading multinational FMCG, food and beverage brands.
  • Diversified interests spanning manufacturing, packaging, textiles, fashion retail and power generation, with a workforce of several thousand people.

The Head of Supply Chain will lead the group's end-to-end supply chain: procurement, commercial negotiations, demand and supply planning, logistics and warehousing. The role ensures materials and finished goods move at the right cost, quality and time to serve both domestic and export customers.

We are looking for a hands-on leader who can step into a large, established operation, strengthen it from within, and solve problems quickly without disrupting a running business.

Responsibilities

~1 min read
  • Develop and execute a supply chain strategy aligned with the group's business plans, growth and export targets.
  • Benchmark current processes, identify gaps and drive continuous improvement in cost, service and working capital.
  • Lead strategic sourcing of raw materials, packaging, spares and services, both local and imported.
  • Negotiate pricing, contract terms and long-term supply agreements with key vendors, including international suppliers.
  • Track commodity, freight and currency trends and build pricing and hedging approaches that protect margins.
  • Develop and manage the vendor base through supplier evaluation, performance reviews and risk mitigation.
  • Own sales and operations planning (S&OP), linking demand forecasts with production, procurement and inventory plans.
  • Set inventory policies to balance service levels against working capital, covering raw materials, WIP and finished goods.
  • Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, including imports, exports, port clearance, freight forwarding and domestic distribution.
  • Manage warehouse operations, layout, capacity, safety and stock accuracy across plants and distribution points.
  • Negotiate and manage third-party logistics, transport and shipping contracts.
  • Build supply chain dashboards and KPIs; use data to drive decisions on cost, lead times and inventory.
  • Make full use of the ERP system and drive digitisation of supply chain processes.
  • Lead, develop and motivate the procurement, planning, logistics and warehousing teams.
  • Work closely with production, finance, sales, export and retail teams to remove bottlenecks.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procurement controls, customs and regulatory requirements.
  • 15+ years of supply chain experience, including at least 5 years leading the function or a major part of it.
  • Background in retail and/or FMCG is required; exposure to manufacturing or export-oriented businesses is an advantage.
  • Proven, hands-on track record across procurement, commercial pricing negotiations, planning, logistics and warehousing.
  • Experience managing import and export supply chains, vendor contracts and large multi-site operations.
  • MBA or Master's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration or Engineering.
  • Preference for graduates of top-tier institutions, such as: IBA, LUMS, KSBL, IoBM, NUST Business School (NBS), Lahore School of Economics (LSE), Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute (GIKI), NED University or FAST-NUCES (for engineering graduates), Reputable international universities of equivalent standing
  • Professional certification such as CSCP / CPIM (ASCM) or CIPS is an advantage.
  • Strong leader: builds, coaches and holds teams accountable; earns respect across functions and levels.
  • Problem solver: diagnoses root causes quickly and delivers practical fixes in a live operating environment.
  • Adaptable: able to integrate smoothly into a large, established organisation, respect what already works, and improve it from within rather than resist existing standards.
  • Commercially sharp negotiator: confident with pricing, contract terms and supplier leverage, locally and internationally.
  • Analytical: comfortable with data, cost modelling, forecasting and KPI-driven decision making; advanced Excel and ERP proficiency (SAP or Oracle preferred).
  • Strong communicator: presents clearly to senior management and works well with finance, production and sales.
  • High integrity: upholds procurement governance, transparency and ethical standards.
  • Procurement cost savings and price variance against budget
  • On-time, in-full (OTIF) delivery to domestic and export customers
  • Inventory days and working capital tied up in stock
  • Forecast accuracy and plan adherence
  • Logistics and warehousing cost per unit shipped
  • Supplier performance on quality, lead time and reliability
  • Stock accuracy and warehouse safety record
  • Team capability, engagement and retention
