Experienced Barista

ob/company introduction and main responsibilities Bosse Events is an established Durban-based event management and hospitality staffing agency supplying professional staff to corporate functions, private events, conferences, exhibitions and premium hospitality venues throughout KwaZulu-Natal. We are recruiting experienced baristas to join our casual hospitality staffing team for upcoming events and ongoing assignments. We are looking for skilled individuals who are passionate about coffee preparation, understand professional coffee equipment and can consistently produce high-quality beverages while providing excellent customer service. Main responsibilities: Prepare and serve espresso-based beverages, including cappuccinos, flat whites, lattes, americanos and other speciality coffees. Operate commercial espresso machines and coffee grinders. Adjust coffee grinding and extraction settings when required. Steam and texture milk correctly. Prepare beverages consistently to professional standards. Set up and manage coffee stations at events and venues. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of coffee equipment. Monitor coffee, milk and other consumable stock. Process customer orders and payments where required. Provide friendly, efficient service during busy periods. Assist with coffee station setup and breakdown. Requirements Minimum requirements Minimum 1 year of experience as a professional barista. Previous experience working in an established coffee shop, restaurant, hotel or speciality coffee environment. Confident operating commercial espresso machines. Strong understanding of coffee extraction, grinding and milk texturing. Ability to consistently prepare standard espresso-based beverages. Basic latte art skills preferred. Experience handling POS systems and customer payments. GAAP POS experience advantageous. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to work efficiently under pressure. Professional appearance and strong personal hygiene. Reliable transport to and from event venues. Availability for weekday and weekend assignments. Contactable references.
