Research Nurse – Respiratory & Sleep Medicine

Part-time research nursing role at Flinders Medical Centre supporting respiratory and sleep medicine clinical trials until 2029.

About the role: 

The Research Nurse – Respiratory and Sleep Medicine has day to day responsibilities in conducting research studies in the department of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine including recruitment of eligible participants to clinical trials and research studies as well as conducting the study visits according to the approved study protocol and in accordance to ICH-GCP guidelines.

• Provide direct nursing care and/or individual clinical trial case management to patient/clients on a day to day basis in the Department of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine
• Provide health education, counselling and/or therapeutic/rehabilitation programs to improve the health outcomes of individual patient/clients or groups
• In accordance with study protocols, plan coordinate services with other disciplines or agencies in providing individual’s health care needs and meeting protocol investigations;
• Contribute to procedures for effectively dealing with people exhibiting challenging behaviours;
• Support nursing practice learning experiences for students undertaking clinical placements, orientation for new staff and preceptorship of graduates

About you:

• Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
• Completed Certificate in Good Clinical Practice
• Previous nursing experience in a clinical research area.
• Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice.
• Proven experience in delivering high quality and safe care consistent with the National Safety and Quality Health Care Service Standards. (Mandatory for all clinical positions.)
