Ui DesignerDesign & Creative

Our website has one job: help someone with a couch they don't need anymore feel confident booking a pickup. Every page, graphic, and button either helps with that or gets in the way.

You'll own how resupply.com looks and feels, along with the landing pages we send ad traffic to. Most of your time (about 80%) goes to design: page layouts, graphics made for the web, and keeping everything consistent. The other 20% is building. You'll put your own designs live in our CMS, make HTML and CSS fixes, and spin up landing pages for tests without waiting in line for an engineer. You'll be based in our Belgrade office (hybrid) and work closely with the marketing team in Boston.

This is a web role through and through. We need someone who designs for screens rather than print, and who knows what happens to a design between the mockup and the live page.

ReSupply picks up donated furniture and household goods from people's homes across the US and gets them to charities that can use them. A lot of charities can't afford to run their own trucks anymore, so we handle the pickups for them. Since 2015 we've kept more than 80 million pounds of stuff out of landfills and delivered over $90 million in goods to our 4,000+ charity partners across 48 states.

We're a veteran-founded US company headquartered in Boston, with a team in Belgrade and teammates in Guatemala. Donors pay for the convenience of a fast pickup, so marketing has a real job to do here: show people that ReSupply is the easiest way to give their stuff a second life.

Responsibilities

~1 min read
  • Design desktop and mobile layouts for our main site, city and service-area pages, and paid landing pages, with clear hierarchy and an obvious next step.
  • Create graphics built for the web: icons, illustrations, banners, and edited photography that explain how pickup works (and what we take) at a glance, and still load fast.
  • Build and maintain a library of reusable page sections and components, so new pages don't start from scratch.
  • Keep type, color, imagery, and spacing consistent across the site, with source files organized enough that anyone could pick them up.
  • Work with SEO and marketing on copy placement, page structure, and conversion goals.
  • Design variations for landing page tests, and use the results to make the next version better.
  • Put your designs live: build and update pages in our CMS and page builder, and write HTML and CSS when the builder isn't enough.
  • Export and optimize every asset so pages stay fast.
  • Turn around landing page variations for tests quickly.
  • Check live pages on real phones and browsers, and fix what looks off.
  • Hand anything bigger, like custom features, integrations, or back-end changes, to engineering with clear specs.

We use AI every day, and we'd expect you to as well. On the design side, that means exploring concepts quickly, extending or cleaning up images, and resizing assets for different placements. On the build side, AI coding assistants make the 20% a lot more approachable: writing and debugging CSS, building a component, or figuring out why something breaks on mobile. You still need to understand what you're putting on the site, because you'll be the one fixing it if it breaks.

We also need you to know where AI doesn't belong. If an image shows a donor, a pickup crew, a truck, or a charity partner, it should be real. People are trusting us to come into their homes, and fake photos would undercut that quickly. You'll also keep an eye on rights and licensing for anything generated or sourced.

  • 3+ years of professional design experience, mostly on live websites or landing pages.
  • A portfolio of shipped web work showing desktop and mobile, with your role clearly marked.
  • Hands-on experience putting your own designs live, whether in a CMS, a page builder, or by writing HTML and CSS. You don't need to be a full developer.
  • Strong in Figma, Photoshop, and Illustrator, or the equivalents you prefer.
  • Great typography, layout, and image editing skills.
  • You know how to make web graphics look sharp and load fast: when to use SVG, PNG, or WebP, how to size for high-resolution screens, and how much compression is too much.
  • Practical accessibility know-how: color contrast, readable type, alt text, and buttons that work for thumbs.
  • Comfort using AI in your design and build work, with an example you can walk us through.
  • Excellent written and spoken English. You'll take briefs, present your work, and trade feedback with a US team every week.

Nice to Have

~1 min read
  • Experience designing for US or other English-speaking audiences
  • Experience customizing templates or themes in a major CMS, beyond editing content
  • Some JavaScript
  • Experience designing conversion-focused consumer websites and running A/B tests
  • Motion design skills for subtle web animation
  • Month 1: Audit the site's visuals, assets, and page templates. Find what's inconsistent, outdated, slow, or missing.
  • Month 2: Build a set of reusable page patterns, then design and ship your first priority page yourself.
  • Month 3: Review how your work looks and performs live, then pick the next target with the team.

Our marketing team is in Boston, so we need at least five hours of overlap with US Eastern time each weekday. In practice, that usually means working something like noon to 8 p.m. Belgrade time. Outside of that, your schedule is flexible.

Send your resume (in English) and a portfolio with two or three website projects. Show us mobile layouts and original web graphics, and tell us which parts you designed and which parts you built. If you have live pages you put up yourself, send the links.

Optional, but we'll notice: include one example of how you used AI on a project, and what you had to fix afterward.
