You will help Avalara meet its regulatory obligations, maintain effective compliance controls, and support readiness for audits, regulatory examinations, and supervisory requests. As the business evolves, you will contribute to compliance automation, process improvement, and program maturity initiatives that help scale the Corporate Compliance program and support business growth.

  • →Conduct transaction monitoring and support the review, investigation, escalation, and documentation of suspicious activity matters.

  • →Perform testing and monitoring to assess whether processes, policies, and procedures meet applicable regulatory requirements.

  • →Partner with Product and other internal teams on compliance technology, workflow automation, system enhancements, and process improvement initiatives.
  • →Prepare metrics, reporting, and status updates for internal management on compliance activity, risks, issues, remediation, and program performance.
  • →Respond to compliance requests from internal stakeholders and support interactions with regulators, external service providers, and other stakeholders as required.
  • →Support compliance training across regions and business lines in partnership with People & Culture and other stakeholders.
  • →Identify opportunities to improve compliance processes, controls, reporting, automation, and use of AI-enabled tools, and support implementation of scalable solutions that enhance program effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in AML, financial crime, regulatory compliance, risk management, or a related compliance field.
