Job Title: System Engineer - Senior

Department: System Engineering & DBA
Location: Hybrid (Onsite & Remote),Riedman Campus, 100 Kings Highway, Rochester NY 14617. As needed meetings/outage
Hours Per Week: 40
Schedule: Full-Time, Day-Shift, Monday to Friday, (8 am - 4:30 pm)

Position Summary:

Architect, design, and evaluate hardware and software server solutions to specifications meeting customer and departmental needs. Responsible for complex system implementations and configurations on supported server hardware and software platforms. Maintains expert knowledge and sets standards for server configurations – both software and hardware. Occasionally acts as project leader for various Technical Services and Information Services and Technology projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Provides complex server engineering support for Information Services & Technology customers.
Provides server technical expertise on infrastructure projects or projects requested by the customer community.
Architects and designs fail safe storage solutions to accommodate our server systems, as observed by Manager.
Strategic Planning and Development.
System Maintenance and Performance.
Maintains a high degree of server engineering knowledge and overall computer expertise.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

→Bachelor's degree in computer science preferred.
→Strong analytical, computer, and communication skills.

Requirements

5-10 years of experience with computer servers (i.e. Windows Server and cloud service providers like Azure or AWS).

Tasks often involve sitting at a workstation, using a computer, handling paperwork, and interacting with colleagues or visitors. Fine motor control is essential for typing and administrative tasks, while clear vision and hearing support accurate communication. Emotional and cognitive demands include managing multiple tasks, handling interruptions, and exercising independent judgment. Environmental exposures are generally low but may include shared workspaces, proximity to clinical areas, or occasional crowding.
