The Shift Sergeant, Security will supervise Public Safety Officers on assigned shift, assist in the conducting of investigations of crimes and accidents, protecting property, facilities, and citizens by law enforcement, and performing related work as required.

The Shift Sergeant, Security will:

Supervises Public Safety Officers on assigned shift, including preparing shift schedules.
Patrols hospital, ensuring service expectations are met and initiating corrective action as necessary.
Reviews Public Safety Officer incident reports for accuracy.
Monitors work performance of Public Safety Officers and conducts performance reviews.
Provides support for investigating accidents and suspected crimes, reports findings, and pursues appropriate course of action.
Assists in the training of Public Safety Officers
Represents the Security department as a member of Emergency Response Team.
May direct and control traffic; may issue parking citations in the parking garage.
Performs other duties that may be assigned in the best interest of the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.
