This seasonal leadership opportunity is ideal for an experienced tax professional who enjoys developing people and delivering high-quality client support.
You will lead a fully remote team of Virtual Tax Professionals responsible for Second Look tax reviews and complex tax matters.
Combining technical tax expertise with people management, you will oversee team performance, service quality, and operational consistency.
You will recruit and train seasonal associates, coordinate staffing and schedules, and provide ongoing coaching throughout the tax season.
You will also guide professionals through complex tax scenarios, IRS transcript analysis, and potential resolution opportunities.
Working in a virtual environment, you will help ensure accurate tax outcomes, regulatory compliance, and a consistent client experience.
This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through team leadership, technical guidance, and continuous improvement.

You will oversee the performance and development of a remote team while providing hands-on tax guidance and ensuring high standards across Second Look reviews and virtual client services.

Recruit, interview, and hire seasonal Virtual Tax Professionals according to operational needs.
Deliver training on tax policies, Second Look review methodology, IRS transcript analysis, virtual platforms, and workflow systems.
Create, manage, and adjust team schedules to ensure adequate coverage and achievement of performance objectives.
Monitor attendance, productivity, and compliance with virtual work expectations.
Review team performance metrics and provide timely coaching, constructive feedback, and development support.
Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing remote work environment.
Provide technical tax guidance and support to associates handling complex tax situations.
Help team members interpret IRS transcripts and identify appropriate tax resolution opportunities.
Ensure compliance with Internal Revenue Service requirements and applicable internal policies and standards.
Support client escalations and contribute to virtual service delivery when additional assistance is needed.
Promote consistent review practices, accurate tax outcomes, and a positive client experience throughout the seasonal period.

Requirements

The ideal candidate combines hands-on tax preparation or research experience with proven supervisory abilities and strong communication skills. They should be comfortable leading remote teams, handling complex tax questions, and adapting to the changing demands of a seasonal operation.

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 3 years of experience in tax preparation and/or tax research.
Previous supervisory or people leadership experience.
Ability to lead, motivate, and coach remote teams effectively.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Experience providing client support in a virtual or remote environment.
Flexibility to work extended or varied hours during the seasonal period.
Reliable internet connection with a minimum speed of 15 Mbps.

Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent education and relevant professional experience.
Circular 230 credential, such as Attorney, Enrolled Agent (EA), or Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Previous experience managing or leading remote teams.
Experience using artificial intelligence tools or other digital productivity solutions.
Previous Team Lead experience.
