Product Manager, Onboarding
Quick Summary
completion, KYC pass rates and time to verify,
About the Role
~1 min readYou'll own onboarding from the first screen to a verified account. It already works, and the PM who runs it today will hand it over with the history behind it. Now we need more people to get through, one step and one country at a time.
Some people are stopped by our risk checks, and that's fine. Others leave because a step is confusing or slow, and those are the ones you'll go after.
Compliance decides what we check. Our compliance product team runs the verification process and the vendors behind it. You decide how it works for the customer.
We hire builders. Our PMs prototype with AI before engineering builds anything, operations people automate their own work, and if you can fix something today, you don't open a ticket for it. We all use AI in our daily work, so in the interview we'll ask you to show us something you built with it. We care more about how fast you're learning and what you've made than about where you're starting from.
- More of the people who start onboarding finish it, and our risk checks are as strict as they were.
- KYC and verification pass rates are up in the countries where we lose the most people, and you can explain why each fix worked.
- Marketing trusts the numbers from first ad to verified account.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Own the onboarding roadmap and its numbers: completion, KYC pass rates and time to verify, by step and by country. Decide what to fix first, and say plainly what we're leaving alone.
- →When customers get stuck, work out why from the data and what they tell Support, then test a fix and see if it helps.
- →Bring the compliance teams evidence of where customers struggle, and ideas for checking the same things with fewer people dropping out.
- →Work with your engineers and designers most days. Answer their questions before they hold up the work, and push back when the logic gets more complicated than it needs to be.
- →Work with the teams before and after onboarding so the hand-offs don't show, and make sure the events Marketing relies on are right.
- →Use AI to go faster, for example to turn a long regulation into a first-draft spec or to sort thousands of failure reasons.
- 3–5 years as a product manager, ideally on onboarding, growth or another funnel.
- You've turned a vague goal like “more people get verified” into a plan, and you like talking to customers and use what you hear to decide what to build.
- You write your own SQL, and you've run enough A/B tests to know when a result isn't significant.
- You've shipped in a regulated product, kept Compliance on side and still held one clear roadmap.
- You use AI every day and have built at least one thing with it that you still use.
- You write clearly in English, and you can say no to good ideas to protect the important ones.
- Identity verification experience, such as document checks, liveness or database checks.
- Marketing tech such as AppsFlyer, Adjust or Branch.
- Fintech in more than one country.
