Locum Occupational Therapist – Adult Social Care

Liquid Personnel is recruiting a Locum Occupational Therapist for its client to join Adult Social Care Team, based in West Berkshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified OT with Adult Social Care experience to support adults in the community, helping people maximise their independence, maintain their strengths and live safely in their own homes.

The role offers hybrid working, with three days per week in the office alongside visits to clients in their homes, care homes and other community settings. 

What will your responsibilities be? 

• Undertake person-centred assessments for adults aged 18+ to identify their care, support and occupational therapy needs.
• Support individuals to maximise their strengths and abilities and remain as independent as possible.
• Take a strengths-based approach to prevent, reduce or delay the need for care and support.
• Assess functional abilities, risks and support requirements within the home and community.
• Support carers to continue in their caring roles for as long as they wish.
• Provide OT advice and professional guidance to other members of the Adult Social Care team.
• Work collaboratively with health professionals and wider multidisciplinary colleagues.
• Maintain robust and accurate records in line with HCPC and professional standards.
• Apply relevant legislation, including the Care Act 2014, safeguarding, Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) and Continuing Healthcare (CHC

Role Details: 

• Position: Locum Occupational Therapist
• Rate: £38 per hour
• Location: West Berkshire
• Team: West Locality Adult Social Care
• Working pattern: Hybrid – 3 days per week in the office, plus community visits.
• Office base: Market Street, RG14 5LD. 

Qualifications & Experience: 

• HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist 
• Eligible to work in the UK 
• Post-qualified experience 
• HCPC-registered 
• Degree in Occupational Therapy
