The Stripe Accounting Team is responsible for supporting all products at Stripe, consulting on accounting implications, and supporting teams' ability to make informed strategic decisions. We are responsible for the accurate and timely recording of all business-generated transactions on our balance sheet and income statement. We operate in a fast-paced environment and collaborate significantly with cross-functional and international teams.

Stripe is seeking an experienced accountant to join our world-class accounting team. In this role you will support revenue and cost accounting for products developed by OpenRouter, leveraging your technical expertise with US GAAP, specifically ASC 606, to quickly identify accounting implications and impacts to customers while advising and collaborating with team members cross-functionally to develop operational processes. Ideally you will have both public accounting and industry experience in tech or financial services, as well as experience working for companies with a high volume of complex transactions and issues. 

• →Own P&L accounting for OpenRouter’s products, including journal entries, reconciliations, variance analyses, financial reporting deliverables, and analytical reviews
• →Partner closely with OpenRouter’s product, go-to-market, and finance partners to thoroughly understand new products, features, and contracts, and advise on accounting implications
• →Partner with internal systems and engineering teams to support internal financial systems and automation of accounting processes
• →Research and prepare technical accounting analyses
• →Assess the effectiveness of internal controls, and design new processes and controls for emerging and growing business activities
• →Identify, recommend and implement scalable accounting processes to support global growth at OpenRouter
• →Understand data and system flows, analyzing financial results to identify and address anomalies.
• →Support external audit processes

• 7+ years of relevant public accounting and/or industry experience
• B.A. or B.S degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred)
• Fluency in U.S. GAAP and ability to research complex accounting issues
• Proven track record of managing high volumes of complex transactions and financial issues
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to convey financial concepts to both financial and non-financial audiences
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and influence stakeholders
• Demonstrated history of taking on various types of challenging projects and producing results, with excellent attention to detail 
• Solution-oriented mindset with enthusiasm for establishing best practices, and challenging existing processes to identify improvement opportunities 
• Track record of leveraging AI to improve quality and efficiency

• Knowledge of (or experience in) the technology, payments, and/or AI industries
• SQL experience
