Commercial Banker

First Service Bank, recognized as one of Arkansas' Best Places to Work for seven consecutive years (2020–2026), is looking for an experienced and results-driven Commercial Banker to help expand our presence in the Conway market.

As a Commercial Banker, you'll be responsible for developing new businesses, managing existing commercial relationships, and delivering lending solutions that support both customer success and the Bank's continued growth.

• →Develop New Business: Identify, pursue, and establish profitable commercial lending relationships throughout Conway and surrounding communities.
• →Grow and Manage a Loan Portfolio: Maintain and expand an existing commercial loan portfolio while monitoring credit quality, risk ratings, and potential problem loans.
• →Structure Lending Solutions: Evaluate financial information, underwrite financing requests, negotiate loan terms, and present credit recommendations for approval.
• →Build Lasting Relationships: Cultivate meaningful relationships with existing customers, prospective businesses, and community partners.
• →Stay Connected to the Market: Conduct regular business development calls and in-person visits with customers and prospects, maintaining an active sales pipeline.
• →Expand Banking Relationships: Identify opportunities to grow deposit relationships and connect customers with additional banking products and services.
• →Collaborate Across the Bank: Partner with lending, retail, branch leadership, and loan operations teams to support loan origination, documentation, and closing.
• →Maintain Strong Lending Practices: Follow established loan policies, banking regulations, and risk management standards while supporting responsible growth.
• →Represent First Service Bank: Actively participate in community and business activities to strengthen relationships and expand the Bank's presence in the Conway market.

We're looking for someone who understands that successful commercial banking requires a balance of business development, sound credit judgment, and genuine relationship building.

• Minimum of five years of related lending experience.
• Experience developing, underwriting, structuring, and managing commercial or business loans.
• Strong understanding of credit analysis, financial statements, loan structuring, and risk management.
• Demonstrated business development and relationship management skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Excellent organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with banking systems, Microsoft Office applications, and web-based technology.
• Ability to travel locally for customer visits, business development activities, and meetings.
• NMLS license as required for the position.

• College degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience managing a sizable commercial loan portfolio.
• Established business relationships within Conway, Faulkner County, or surrounding markets.

• Commercial Lending Experience: At least five years of related lending experience, with a strong understanding of commercial loan origination, underwriting, structuring, and portfolio management.
• Business Development Mindset: A proven ability to identify new business opportunities, cultivate customer relationships, and grow a profitable lending portfolio.
• Strong Credit Judgment: The ability to analyze financial information, evaluate creditworthiness, assess risk, and recommend responsible lending solutions.
• Relationship-Building Skills: A genuine passion for connecting with business owners, understanding their financial needs, and becoming a trusted banking partner.
• Sales & Negotiation Skills: Confidence in developing new business, negotiating loan terms, and identifying opportunities to expand customer relationships.
• Organization & Attention to Detail: The ability to manage multiple lending relationships, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate documentation.
• Communication & Collaboration: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, leadership, and internal banking teams.
• Community Involvement: A willingness to build connections throughout Conway and surrounding communities through business development and community engagement.
• Technical Proficiency: Comfort using banking systems, Microsoft Office applications, and web-based technology.
• Education & Credentials: A college degree in a related field is preferred. NMLS licensure is required.
